Consultation services can provide an opportunity to identify and assess problem areas, creatively intervene in a wide variety of situations and reduce disruption for students and staff. Consultation services allow for cost-effective, emotionally, behaviorally and academically supportive learning and treatment environments. Support, guidance and a fresh approach to existing programs can be provided through short term or ongoing consultation.

Counseling services can be provided to identify and address specific problem areas. Family Based Treatment has been shown through research to be the most effective means of treating adolescents with eating disorders. Social skills and support groups combine energy, creativity, fun and therapeutic techniques to develop or enhance strategies for addressing a wide range of need areas for children and adolescents. Skill group counseling, utilizing the principles of CBT and DBT, is an effective means of replacing ineffective behaviors. Family intervention and support groups can increase the effectiveness of educational and treatment programs.
Training series and workshops can be provided to organizations, employees, staff, parents and/or students on a variety of topics pertinent to attaining the highest standards of treatment and education for all children and adolescents. All training opportunities combine fundamental information with tools or techniques for implementation. Take-home projects can be provided to assist in professional development planning and the earning of PDP’s for certified personnel.

A.C.C.T. Social Skills Training Series for Grades 2-5 and Grades 5-8 |
Series I — Social skills and organization *— A six meeting series for each age level to focus on functioning within the social world, learning how to organize oneself and be prepared for the many challenges that these stages of life present. The students will be involved in group discussions, games, and activities which are designed to be supportive, solution-focused and informational. Groups will begin mid October. Series II — Stress, anxiety and the social world *— A six meeting series for each age level to focus on managing stress, reducing anxiety and feeling confident within one’s social world. The same format outlined above will be used. Groups will begin early January. Series III— Social skills, goals and achievement *— A six meeting series for each age level to focus on social skills, setting goals and recognizing one’s strengths and challenges. The same format outlined above will be used. Groups will begin in March. *Participants may attend 1, 2 or all 3 series if determined appropriate during screening. A.C.C.T. Anger Management Group for Teens Therapeutic, skill-centered group – An eight meeting series to focus on triggers for anger, conflict resolution, stress management and social skills. The students will be involved in group discussions, games, and activities which are designed to be supportive, solution-focused and educational. Groups to begin mid October. A.C.C.T. General Group Information Meeting location for all groups — A.C.C.T. ‘s cozy office in Marshfield, easy to find from Rt. 3, Rt. 139, Rt. 123 or Rt. 27. Groups can be developed in local school, church or private settings as well. Meeting Length for all groups— one hour, please arrive on-time as meetings will start and end promptly. Cost — $35 per person per meeting, payable in 3 installments for series. Payments made in full prior to the first session will receive a $15 discount.
